Installation Starts Here!   

We have designed E.G.G.S.™ to be user friendly and easy to install. Even a person with an everage technical background should be able to install it with no problem. However, if for any reason you are not comfortable in installing it, you can avail of our professional installation and unlimited support for one year for a very small fee. Extract E.G.G.S. ™ distribution archive or zip file (eggs.zip) to a new folder.

You will need a software to extract the zip file. If you don’t have one, you can get a free software from www.winzip.com

After unzipping the E.G.G.S. ™ archive or zip file, it will look like this in your computer :

Let’s call eggs, the root folder . This contains all the necessary PHP scripts that E.G.G.S. ™ needs to function.

The attachments folder contains any attachments that the list administrator might include while sending a message (either automated or manual)

The images folder contains all the source images that are needed to display graphics on the E.G.G.S. ™ administration panel interface.

The export folder contains all the email address lists in plain text file format for different autoresponders. These get generated when Export prospects function is called up from within E.G.G.S. ™

You are now ready to upload your folders and files to your web host using any FTP software.

You don’t have to upload the files into your cgi-bin. You can upload it in any directory. Just don’t forget where you uploaded it.

You can upload this entire folder including files and directory structure to your hosting server using any FTP software. 

To start uploading, just select your eggs root folder and upload it to your webhost. This will upload eggs and all its folders and files into your webhost.

Alternatively, if you have SSH facility, you may simply upload the zip archive and unzip the distribution directly into your web space.

After uploading the folder and the files, it may now now look like this :

http://www.youdomain.com/eggs/

where eggs/ is the directory which contains all the E.G.G.S. ™ files and folders.

Changing File and Folder Permission :

Now, you will have to change the permission of  4 files that you just uploaded.

Change the permission of the following files to read, write, execute all or chmod 777

db.inc

counter.cgi

eggsjs.cgi

sendall.php

You also have to change the permission of 2 folders to read, write, execute all or chmod 777. The 2 folders are :

attachments

export
